The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are now open and will shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the subsequent criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home that has a combined gross residence income that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined house earnings doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are researching or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
